Team Carnahan and Carnahan volunteers worked together over the weekend in the last large canvass before GOTV and Election Day. Field Director Greg Shufeldt organized the effort that successfully contacted more than 1,000 voters on Saturday.
After the hard work was done, volunteers and Team Carnahan went to Bandana's BBQ and enjoyed a lunch with Congressman Carnahan.
Team Carnahan is gearing up and team members are excited about talking to voters in the coming week. Only one week until Election Day! Start talking to your friends and relative and reminding them to vote in this historic election. Missourians have a very tangible opportunity to change this course and future of this country, but it won't happen if Democrats don't vote.

Humphreys: Good Time Had By All...
The St. Louis City/County Unity Event was a lot of fun last night. Over drinks and food, City and County elected offiicals mingled with Team Carnahan staffers in a celebratory mood.
With Team Carnahan growing every day, the Carnahan in Congress office is a very dynamic place with a great team of young people reaching out to voters in the 3rd Congressional District.

Team Carnahan Going Spiezio?
So... rumor around the Carnahan campaign has it that the field team is going to be sporting the Spiezio goatee next week. Of course, being an equal opportunity campaign- this effort will include both male and female members of the campaign staff.
Also, the Congressman was apparently ahead of all of us when he chose to sport Taguchi's number at the 2006 Congressional baseball game... I, for one, certainly didn't expect Taguchi to be a homerun hero... but that's why he's the Congressman ; )
Here's to the World Series, Redbirds and the great Cardinals fans out there in Cardinal Nation... GO CARDS!!!

Missouri Supreme Court: Voter ID Law Unconstitutional
According the to the P-D, the Missouri Supreme Court has upheld a lower court ruling declaring the Missouri Voter ID law unconstitutional. The Supreme Court ruled 6-1 (Justice Limbaugh in the minority) that the law put undue requirements on voters who would have had to pay for documents (e.g. birth certificates) to obtain a voter ID card.
The Post Dispatch notes "The Court found the requirement violated several provisions in the state constitution. The court said requiring otherwise legitimate voters to obtain an appropriate ID imposed too big a burden on their voting rights."
This ruling means that voters will not need a photo identification in order to vote in the General Election on November 7th, 2006.
