Oh, What A Night: Congressman Re-elected With 66% of Vote

Tuesday, November 7th was indeed a very, very good night to be a Democrat. On an early morning when Democrats took over the U.S. House, Senate and a majority of the Governorships, Congressman Russ Carnahan also sailed to victory. When the final tally was counted, Missouri voters had elected Claire McCaskill to the U.S. Senate and Congressman Carnahan was returning to the House of Representatives with 66% of the votes from Missouri's 3rd Congressional District.

Though final votes did not come in from Jefferson County until Thursday, it was clear very early on Election Night that Congressman Carnahan would be joining the new Democratic Majority in Congress. Shortly after 10:00 p.m., Congressman Carnahan went to the main ballroom of the Renaissance Grand Hotel to claim victory in front of a crowd of Democratic activists, staff and supporters.

It has been a historic election cycle for the Democrats (and a lot of fun too...). On behalf of Congressman Carnahan, his family, and all of the Team Carnahan staff, thank you all for your support and efforts in this election.
